For the first time in history ever, last night three black girls have won America’s biggest beauty pageants. A total of 51 candidates were cut to semi-finalist and then finalists, where each of them were competing among themselves in swimsuit and pretty evening gowns. Only three girls out of 51 have made it to the finale.
These black girls were namely Miss North Carolina Cheslie Kryst the stage, Miss Nevada Tianna Tuamoheloa, and Miss Oklahoma Triana Browne. Finally, Miss North Carolina who is a lawyer by her profession won the Miss USA title.
Do you know what these not so fair girls are the perfect examples of racism and bias where people compare each other and judge them on the basis of their physical appearance and look?
Before winning this title, many of the women’s have worn the crown in the history of the Miss USA pageant.
Carole Anne-Marie Gist was the first women to win this title long back in 1990 and recently girls like Deshauna Barber and Kára McCullough have taken this prestigious title.
The sweetest moment last night was when Miss Teen USA 2019, Kaliegh Garris who is just 18 years old has made it more special by giving a bouquet of flowers to Kryst.
Twitter users have also appraised their winning by mentioning: “These Black girls snatching those crowns, literally. I love it! Miss Teen USA, today Miss USA are both Black women!”
They all were pretty surprised to know that this tie the girls who have won the title are all black queens.
Remarking the victory of this successful event by these black girls, Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber told that, “I had no idea just how much racism I would experience from an International perspective”. She also told how once she had to endure those racist remarks while she was competing for Miss Universe. How people used to make fun of her by sending her monkey emojis and saying that her king seemed like a poop emoji and tag in photos using apes.
Miss North Carolina Cheslie Kryst now Miss USA 2019
So, remarkably the title won by these girls who are all black have justified that the future won’t be defined by the past and their black skin could not them achieve what they deserve for.
Truly this is like a big tight slap on the faces of the people who are good for nothing and who are responsible for making them let down by comparing talent with their skin colour.
Seriously we want more black girls like them who could break the stereotype by winning more number of beauty pageants award and accolades to prove the fact to all the girls that every girl irrespective of her shade and colour deserves to win titles as they won.
